We are passionate advocates of community involvement and take our role as a provider of information and resources very seriously. Our office participates in year-round outreach and activism, including financial donations, in areas of need that reflect our immediate and global communities. Below are a few of the organizations we support and we encourage you to support them as well!
Their mission is to protect animals and their habitats. They are committed to saving species worldwide by uniting their expertise in animal care and conservation science with their dedication to inspiring passion for nature.
Monarch has served San Diego for nearly three decades, beginning as a one-room education center and expending into a K-12 comprehensive school designed to educate homeless youth. There are 22,000 homeless students in San Diego County. Homelessness contributes to a wide range of challenges including physical and psychological problems, safety fears and academic struggles. It’s estimated that 75% of homeless students do not receive a high school diploma. The barriers these students face, hinder their ability to become contributing, successful members of their families and society and place them at a high risk for becoming tomorrow’s homeless adults. Monarch gives students the skills and tools they need to overcome those odds.
The mission of The San Diego LGBT Community Center is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV communities by providing activities, programs and services that create community, empower community members; provide essential resources; advocate for civil and human rights; and embrace, promote and support our cultural diversity.
Their mission is to save individual animals, animal populations and habitats all over the world. With projects in more than 40 countries, IFAW provides hands-on assistance to animals in need, whether its dogs and cats, wildlife and livestock, or rescuing animals in the wake of disasters. IWAF also advocates for saving populations from cruelty or deletion, such as their campaign to end commercial whaling and seal hunts.
